How was Your Day?

Hello, my name is Kendra and I'm a preschool teacher.  No, this is not AA, however, this information is vital in the story I'm about to tell you.

My assistant was home with a sick child today, so it was just me and a classroom of 3 year olds.  It's not as bad as it sounds, there were only 8 of them today and they are mostly little darlings.
Anyhow, two of my little darlings came in from the playground with their pockets completely loaded down with rocks.  After reminding them that rocks stay on the playground and helping to empty their pockets, we went on with our day as if nothing happened, until a very big something happened....
While taking out the trash in the bathroom, I bend over to pick up, what I think is a rogue rock that somehow survived our earlier dumping of pockets, only to realize what I've actually picked up is a poop.  Yes, a poop!  Somehow, some way, there was a small, rock shaped poop on the ground.  Niiiice.  Only in preschool...well, and maybe Walmart.

So, remember friends, no matter how bad things were at your work today, at least you didn't bend over to pick up someone else's poop.  Ha!

Guess what.  I STILL love my job.  Also, I need more antibacterial soap.

How YOU Doin'?

Did you read that title in your best Joey from Friends voice?  If not, go back and do it again.

Okay, now that we're on the same page, let's talk blogs.  I have a blog (spoiler alert..you're reading it).  Chances are, you have a blog.  Just about everyone has a blog.  The problem with blogs for people like me are that they are intimidating.  You (I) feel like I need something profound to write about, and also that I need to be grammatically correct at all times.  Very rarely do I ever have anything profound to say.  And, if I did have something profound to say, it wouldn't be grammatically correct.  In actuality, I use my hands to talk.  A lot.  I draw my words as I say them because sometimes they just don't come to me.  Also, I like short statements.  Pithy, if you will.  I'm much better with Facebook status updates.  But, not Twitter.  I still don't get Twitter.
Another thing, I'm random, very random.  You have to know me pretty well to follow my brain-train.  This is evidenced by this blog post starting with Joey from Friends and ending with Twitter.

Now you know a few of the reasons I haven't touched this blog in a while and, honestly, I have no idea if I'll touch it again after this, I just felt I owed the inter-web universe an explanation for not keeping it updated.

Now use your best Porky Pig voice to say:
"Tha-tha-that's all folks!"

A Very Busy Saturday

Have you ever had a Saturday that you knew would be very busy, but then turns out to be even more eventful than planned?  Today Brady had a piano contest at 10:30, which went extremely well, but we won't get his full score sheet until Monday.  We had a hour and a half to kill before Gideon was due at soccer, so we stopped at the bagel shop for lunch.  About half way through Brady's bagel he said, "My tooth fell out!"  Sure enough, the tooth that had been wiggling for just a few days fell right out during a bite of bagel sandwich!

Then we went to the soccer fields and found out we were supposed to be taking team pictures that I had completely forgotten about, so we rushed over to take pictures, made it there in time and then started the game.  Usually Gideon likes to just run around with the group of kids chasing the ball and doesn't really care too much about whether he even kicks it or not, but all of the sudden today he caught the soccer bug for just long enough to dribble all the way down the field and score a goal!  Yay!  He was so proud!  Although, from this picture, you would never guess this kid came anywhere close to the goal!

Outtakes

My friend, Lesli, and I took our kids, her twin girls and my two boys plus my hubby, out to take pictures that would hopefully work for Christmas cards this year.  If you've ever done this with your own kids, then you are already laughing.  We took a few that may work, but more than anything we have outtakes.

I call this one "The Silence is Deafening".

"Jazz Hands"

Someone should have told me I was raising a rapper.  I would have done some things differently!

Yum!  This stagnate water tastes so good!

Something about this picture stinks...or maybe Brady's the only one who can smell it.

This one is both sad and funny.  It's a very cute picture of Brady, but if you look in the background, poor Gideon is about to face plant down the stairs!  Luckily, he walked away with nothing, but a small scrape on his knee.

This one is just so Gideon!

To Blog or Not to Blog

That IS the question.  It seems like everyone is blogging these days.  I'm not sure I have the time or the patience to blog, but I'll give it a try.  Here goes...
